Since 2003, NanoHoldings LLC has been working with universities and their scientists worldwide to create nano-energy companies. We have started -- or are in the process of starting -- 14 nano-energy companies.

Our Approach
We seek out scientists who are using nanotechnology to dramatically improve the efficiency of the global energy market along the value chain ranging from generation and transmission to energy storage and conservation. We create commercialization partnerships with scientists and universities at the earliest stages to help shepherd their innovations from the point of discovery to primary development.

Our Relationships
We view our scientists and university partners as key founding stakeholders. In exchange for exclusive licenses to their discoveries, our partners receive founders’ equity in each start-up company. NanoHoldings provides the investment capital and the day-to-day operating management expertise necessary to transform our partners’ discoveries into valuable companies. Our investments are sole-sourced and completely proprietary. NanoHoldings is the majority shareholder in every case.

Our Success
Since 2003, NanoHoldings raised approximately $15mm through a Series A Preferred round from CEOs, industrial families, technology entrepreneurs and a global investment bank.

Our Scientific Network
NanoHoldings has backed some of the world’s top scientists and universities in the area of nano-energy.
